Lake Tahoe Vacation

Posted in My Life by todd on the February 19th, 2006

Looking out my hotel room in South Lake Tahoe I see the Gondola of Heavenly, and mountains that appear to lead to heaven. The view is just a little better than sitting at home looking into my backyard and seeing the fences that seem to hold me captive.

Friday was the start of my journey when I left Folsom, CA and headed out on HWY 50. East towards South Lake Tahoe. The journey was uneventful other than the slow drivers, chain control checkpoints and all the people that can’t drive in 2″ of snow. I ended up in South Lake Tahoe around 7pm, the drive taking an extra 30 to 45 minutes due to the previously mentioned delays. All in all I was happy to be away from home, and in the mountains with the fresh air!

Dinner later that night was at Josh’s Steah House which is a restaurant inside the Horizon Hotel. I must say the Filet Mignon served there rivals all other places. There was a total of 7 of us there for dinner, and we enjoyed every course. The appetizers were great, the salads were cold and fresh, the main course was large and everyhting was cooked to perfection. The wine selection was decent, and the Raymond 01 Cab. was superb. The dessert seemed to be the main event with its’ flaming entrance and good tastes. We got almost every item on the dessert menu *as a table* and the chocolate mountain was my personal favorite.

Friday ended soon after dinner as everyone was tired from their trip to South Lake Tahoe.

Be sure to check back as I update about Saturday, Sunday and Monday in South Lake Tahoe.
